GateHub, a United Kingdom-based cryptocurrency gateway service, will continue listing XRP despite Ripple’s legal issues with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
GateHub said the decision to keep XRP on its platform follows some careful review of the SEC’s complaint against Ripple, which claimed the firm sold XRP as an unlicensed security.
GateHub went on to say that Ripple should be subject to appropriate enforcement actions if U.S. authorities prove the firm and related executives have defrauded investors.
However, GateHub strongly disagreed with the SEC’s decision to classify XRP as a security, emphasizing that this action could potentially have catastrophic consequences for investors who did nothing wrong.
While GateHub will continue supporting XRP, a number of major crypto companies including Coinbase, Binance.US and OKCoin have already delisted it.
