Rumors about China have been spreading like wildfire. People are guessing that there might be a political or military coup against President Xi Jinping to potential military activity in Western China.

Reports of cancelled flights in China, the lack of appearances by Xi in public, and footage of military vehicles captured on camera are all cited as evidence for speculation that a coup is underway.

Is Xi Jinping facing a coup?

A number of Twitter accounts claim a coup has occurred against Xi, who has thousands of followers.

However, none of these updates are from verified or credible accounts and most of these accounts are of anonymous users.

What experts have said?

China experts have concluded that there are no signs of the coup other than commentary on social media and in Indian circles.

China expert Aadil Brar noted that Xi Jinping is in quarantine because of his return to China from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

According to Brar, there is no disruption of flights and government is functioning normally.

A journalist by the name of Zakka Jacob also highlighted that Xi has a powerful institutional hold over China, which makes a coup unlikely.

The author and journalist, Ananth Krishnan, said in his opinion there isn't any evidence of a coup so far.
