Task Description
As artificial intelligence tools grow more advanced, so does the need for large-scale, structured data to train them. However, sourcing that data—especially from public web content—remains expensive and technically challenging. Grass.io introduces a decentralized solution by allowing users to contribute idle internet bandwidth with airdrop offers. Users can earn “Grass Points” that may later become redeemable through future rewards.
What Is Grass?
Grass.io is a decentralized oracle protocol that collects public web data by distributing the task across thousands of user devices. It leverages unused internet bandwidth from users to fetch this data. That information is then cleaned and structured using an AI tool called Socrates, developed by Wynd Labs.
In December 2023, Grass raised $3.5 million in seed funding. The round was led by Polychain Capital and Tribe Capital, with additional participation from Bitscale, Big Brain, and several angel investors. Combined with an earlier pre-seed round led by No Limit Holdings, Grass has raised $4.5 million so far.
This backing suggests serious interest in the project, but it’s still in early stages. A native token hasn’t launched yet, and there’s no confirmed timeline for one. Claim options remain inactive for many users as of now, with airdrop eligibility based solely on points earned and referrals. The platform has only hinted that Grass Points may eventually be redeemable for things like crypto, gift cards, or PayPal cash.
How to Participate in the Grass.io Airdrop
Participation in the airdrop involves accumulating Grass Points, which can be done by running Grass software and referring others. Here’s how users can get started:

- Visit https://getgrass.io
- Download the Grass Extension for your browser
- Install the Extension and create an account
- Provide an email address
- Choose a nickname
- Set a password
- Connect your Wallet (optional but may be required for future claims)
- Install the Grass Desktop App (optional but increases point accumulation)
- Let the Extension or App Run in the Background
- Grass begins collecting bandwidth data from public web sources
- Points accumulate passively over time
- Refer Others using your referral link to boost points. Each referral adds to your total point count and helps move you up the reward tiers.
All user activity is tracked in the “Referral Program” tab of the Grass dashboard. It displays current points, referrals, tier status, and claim eligibility.

Tier-Based Grass.io Airdrop System
Grass.io uses a tier structure to organize user engagement:
- Tier I – Iron: Starting point (0 points)
- Tier II – Bronze: 2,595 points or 11 referrals
- Tier III – Silver: 11,351 points or 17 referrals
- Tier IV – Gold: 36,351 points or 34 referrals
- Tier V – Platinum: Point thresholds beyond Tier IV
Each tier may come with different reward benefits, although specifics on redemption mechanisms remain unconfirmed. The platform currently displays these tiers in the user dashboard, indicating progress toward the next level.
The Grass Desktop App is a standalone tool that runs independently of the browser. It offers:
- 2x Point Accumulation Rate: While the app is active
- Priority Network Bandwidth: For users contributing more resources
- Low Resource Usage: Designed to operate in the background without affecting performance
The app does not access personal files or data. It only pulls public web data needed for AI datasets.
