Task Description

Taiko Airdrop is a decentralized Ethereum-equivalent ZK-EVM and general-purpose ZK-Rollup, meaning it allows Ethereum-based dApps to function on Layer 2 without requiring modifications. This ensures that developers can seamlessly migrate their applications while benefiting from Ethereum’s security and lower transaction fees. Unlike other scaling solutions, Taiko remains fully Ethereum-equivalent, meaning it retains the same developer environment, tools, and compatibility as Ethereum’s mainnet.

Taiko achieves this by utilizing zero-knowledge proofs (ZK-proofs), which batch multiple transactions together and generate a single cryptographic proof for verification. This not only improves transaction throughput but also ensures that transactions are finalized faster than optimistic rollups, which rely on fraud proofs and require waiting periods. By adopting this approach, Taiko eliminates unnecessary delays and enhances the efficiency of Ethereum-based transactions.

As part of its adoption strategy, Taiko airdropped 5% of its initial token supply to early users who contributed to its network. This airdrop targeted multiple categories of users, ensuring that a broad range of participants benefited from their involvement. The recipients included block proposers, block provers, testnet users, Galxe campaign participants, GitHub contributors, Loopring community members, and Ethereum ICO participants who transacted on Ethereum’s mainnet between February 1, 2022, and February 1, 2024.

The airdrop claim process required eligible users to visit claim.taiko.xyz, connect their wallets, and check eligibility within the designated timeframe. The claim period ended on July 5, 2024.

By offering an Ethereum-equivalent scaling solution with a strong incentive model, Taiko is positioning itself as a leading Layer 2 protocol, attracting both developers and users who seek cost-efficient transactions without sacrificing Ethereum’s security.

Potential Future Taiko Airdrop

Taiko has officially deployed its protocol on the Ethereum mainnet. Users can bridge ETH using the official Taiko bridge or RhinoFi bridge (which offers free bridging). Regular activities such as interacting with dApps, swapping, borrowing, and staking ETH may increase eligibility for a potential second airdrop—though this is speculative and not confirmed by Taiko.

Taiko Takeoff x YieldNest Airdrop

Taiko.eth  announced an airdrop collaboration with YieldNestFi on March 4. This partnership allows users to become eligible for an additional airdrop, with allocations tied to their Taiko Status. Participants are encouraged to learn more, level up, and take advantage of this opportunity.
