Health Worsens for Gambaryan as Nigerian Court Weighs Bail Request

Gambaryan has spent over six months in detention, reportedly suffering from serious health issues. His family has voiced concerns over his deteriorating condition, attributing it to inadequate medical care during his detention. In their statement, the family revealed that Gambaryan can no longer walk due to an untreated herniated disc or spinal injury. Furthermore, they stated that prison authorities are refusing to provide him with a wheelchair, which has further worsened his condition.

During the trial, Gambaryan’s legal team filed a new motion for bail, citing his declining health as a reason for his release. However, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria opposed the motion, arguing that Gambaryan is not in poor health. Despite this, the EFCC submitted Gambaryan’s health records to the court, which indicate that he requires surgery.

Critical Bail Hearing for Tigran Gambaryan Amid Growing Health Concerns

Notably, Gambaryan’s next court hearing is scheduled for September 4, where the judge will consider the bail motion. Certainly, the outcome of this hearing is critical, as concerns about Gambaryan’s health continue to grow. The video showing his struggles has added weight to the arguments for his release.

The case has drawn attention from legal experts and human rights organizations, who are closely monitoring the situation. The crypto community has also voiced concerns, demanding that Gambaryan’s human rights be respected.
