Tokyo-based energy and crypto firm Remixpoint confirmed that its new CEO, Takashi Tashiro, will receive his full salary in Bitcoin. The announcement came in an official company statement on July 8.
Remixpoint said it would calculate the Bitcoin salary in Japanese yen, handle taxes in fiat, then buy BTC at market value. The company will send the equivalent amount to a crypto wallet chosen by Tashiro. The payment process will follow corporate governance and Japanese tax laws.
In June 2025, Tashiro became CEO. At the time, he said Remixpoint would adopt a Japan crypto strategy with Bitcoin at its center. He called this move part of a new approach focused on digital asset treasury management.

Remixpoint Crypto Holdings Cross $116 Million
Before appointing Tashiro, Remixpoint already held a large digital asset reserve. As of June 13, the companyreported owning over 1,051 BTC, 901 ETH, 13,920 SOL, 1,191,204 XRP, and 2,802,311 DOGE.
The market value of these crypto assets exceeded $116 million, based on prices at the time of the report. The company did not reveal the average purchase prices or acquisition timeline.
Remixpoint’s decision to hold these cryptocurrencies was tied to internal asset management. It has not announced plans to expand operations beyond energy and treasury activities.
Takashi Tashiro Also Manages Crypto Exchange BITPoint
Takashi Tashiro is listed among the management of BITPoint, a licensed crypto exchange in Japan. The exchange is affiliated with the SBI Group, a major financial player in the country.
BITPoint currently lists several tokens, including the Official Trump (TRUMP) token. The coin is priced at $8.67 as of July 8. The exchange has promoted this memecoin, although Remixpoint has not confirmed any involvement with the listing.
No direct connection has been announced between Remixpoint’s operations and BITPoint’s exchange activities. However, Tashiro’s dual roles are publicly available on both platforms.
Other Executives Have Taken BTC Salaries Before
Remixpoint’s Bitcoin salary arrangement is not the first of its kind. In 2021, Argo Blockchain CEO Peter Wall also took his full pay in BTC. He followed the example of NFL player Russell Okung, who converted part of his salary into Bitcoin in 2020.
Eric Adams, now the New York City Mayor, said during his 2021 campaign that he would take his first three paychecks in Bitcoin. In 2025, Adams is running for reelection as an independent. He has continued to refer to his BTC payments during public statements.
These past actions mirror Remixpoint’s move, although the company has not linked its strategy to any promotional efforts. The stated goal is to align leadership compensation with company asset policies.
