Pi Network introduced Linux Node support and confirmed plans for a protocol upgrade to version 23, aiming to enhance infrastructure and expand KYC integration.

Infrastructure Upgrades Gain Momentum
Pi Network launched the Pi Node Linux, giving operators—particularly exchanges and service providers—a standardized way to run node software. The rollout eliminates the need for customized builds and allows operators to enable auto-updates, reducing discrepancies and strengthening network stability.
The team confirmed that protocol upgrades will begin this week with Testnet1, followed by Testnet2, and later the Mainnet migration. The system will shift from version 19 to Protocol v23, which is Pi’s modified variant of Stellar Protocol v23.
In addition, Pi will embed KYC authority at the protocol layer, delegating verification tasks to trusted organizations. The update marks a step toward a more decentralized identity verification process. So far, more than 14.82 million users have completed KYC and migrated to Mainnet.
Pi Coin Struggles Under Downtrend Pressure
The 4-hour chart for PI/USDT shows the token trading at $0.3558 on OKX. The price remains locked under a descending trendline stretching from late June highs, confirming sustained bearish control.

The 50-period EMA at $0.3518 now acts as immediate dynamic support. PI’s current position slightly above this moving average suggests short-term stabilization, but not yet a confirmed trend reversal.
Support and Resistance Levels
The chart highlights critical levels shaping the next move:
Immediate resistance lies near the descending trendline around $0.39–$0.41. Bulls must break this level to signal a reversal.
Support rests at $0.33, the all-time low recorded on August 26. A decisive drop below this line risks extending the decline toward untested lower zones.
Momentum and Volume Outlook
Trading volumes remain relatively muted, with occasional spikes failing to sustain upward momentum. This lack of follow-through suggests weak buyer conviction.
While some momentum indicators previously flagged bullish divergence, the downtrend channel remains intact. For a 40% rebound scenario to materialize, PI must reclaim the $0.41 resistance zone and close firmly above it.
On the downside, failure to hold the $0.33 floor would confirm continued bearish dominance and open the way for deeper losses.
Market Correlation
PI’s chart also reflects a strong correlation with Bitcoin’s volatility. Any sharp BTC selloff could push PI below its fragile support, while a BTC relief rally may give PI the strength to challenge the downtrend line.
For developers, the introduction of Pi Node Linux and the upcoming Protocol v23 upgrade create new opportunities. The integration of KYC at the protocol layer provides infrastructure that may attract institutional participants once market sentiment improves.
