Berlin’s AI-Driven Cybrothel Offers Virtual Pleasure with Lifelike Dolls 

LUCKNOW (CoinChapter.com) — Human sex workers now face competition from artificial intelligence and robots programmed for sexual services. Berlin is now home to a first-of-its-kind establishment – an AI brothel called Cybrothel. Patrons there can have sexual experiences with lifelike dolls and virtual reality instead of human sex workers. 

Inside the World of Cybrothel’s Immersive AI Dolls

On the surface, Cybrothel runs similar to a standard escort service, with private suites available to rent hourly or overnight. However, the workers set Cybrothel apart. Rather than hiring human workers, Cybrothel offers a menu of sex dolls for clients to pick from. Those sex dolls have provocative names like Bimbo and Ms. Schmidt.

These sex dolls are life-size, but they can not move or speak. However, customers can interact with them virtually, donning VR headsets to access 4D porn featuring their chosen doll. An AI sexting program also lets patrons exchange racy messages with the dolls’ virtual personas.  

Cybrothel fills its suites with these immersive AI dolls and tech. Co-owner Matthias Smetana said that his firm is working on upgrading these dolls that can respond to touch and talk in real time. He views Cybrothel as pioneering the sex industry’s future with AI robotics. So far, the brothel has attracted seasoned sex industry patrons looking for new experiences and first-timers who want a pressure-free environment. 

“If you are here, the only person who can judge you is yourself. We have a lot of people who have never been in touch with sex work, who are really down to try it but are looking for a safe space. If you face performance anxiety, this doesn’t go in Cybrothel as you are dealing with sex toys, not humans.”

Is Sex Industry Shifting Toward Cybrothel?

Moreover, Smetana believes Cybrothel signals the sex trade’s evolution, as Germany’s sex worker numbers have declined 30% compared to pre-pandemic. 

“Traditional clients will be gone in the next 10-15 years. So I think right now the sex industry will move more toward VR. Having sex in both the digital and physical realms simultaneously.”

But would this concept appeal to Australians?

Emma Bennet, a manager at the Onyxx brothel in Townsville, doubts her clients would embrace sci-fi sex. 

“What our customers crave is human touch and connection. At the end of the day, there is only one type of human sexual interaction and that is the real thing!”

Emma said.

She doubts that clients would pay for sex without “the real emotions, skin to skin.”

Judgment-Free Sexual Exploration, But at What Cost?

Alice Child, a Sydney-based sexologist, notes AI brothels could provide judgment-free sexual exploration. However, she cautions against wholly replacing human intimacy with AI or using it to avoid anxieties. 

“A place without judgment is a place without vulnerability, and sex is inherently vulnerable. If you fear being intimate, avoiding sex over the long-term (by using AI), might rob you of the ability to have that really human experience with someone,” she said.
