NEW DELHI (CoinChapter.com) — In a surprising turn of events, police arrested crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, once the face of YouTube channel Bitboy Crypto, on Sept. 26.

The former Bitboy Crypto host got arrested while trying to recover his Lamborghini, which Armstrong alleged was in the possession of a former business associate. Earlier, ‘Bitboy‘ had shared a tweet about doing a live stream from a “very special location.”

Ben 'Bitboy' Armstrong had teased about a special live stream earlier.

A while later, the ex-Bitboy crypto host appeared live in front of the house of one Carlos Diaz, claiming Diaz had his Lamborghini. However, the now-deleted livestream then escalated into a host of conspiracy theories.

For instance, before the authorities arrested the former Bitboy crypto host, he kept looking back at Diaz’s house, claiming

I have got to keep looking over my back. I thought this was the guy who kills people. Where’s he at? Here I am telling the whole story!

Early in the livestream, Ben ‘Bitboy‘ Armstrong had shouted, “I am not afraid of you” in the direction of the house.

Meanwhile, Diaz shared a post on X, mocking Armstrong. During his livestream, the Bitboy crypto host had alleged that Diaz had run away when Armstrong knocked on the door.

However, Diaz shared a video from a door camera, which showed Armstrong running away after knocking on the door. The alleged business associate of Bitboy Crypto claimed Armstrong did not “know when to stop lying.”

Bitboy Crypto Arrested: X Users React

As news of the ex-Bitboy Crypto host’s arrest spread, X users shared posts in reaction. Crypto sleuth ZachXBT, who has not been on the best terms with Armstrong, quoted an old post about Bitboy, claiming Armstrong was finally getting his “karma.”

Other users pointed out Armstrong’s legal troubles with Hit Network CEO “TJ” Shedd Jr. and Shedd’s father, Timothy Shedd Sr., which had led to several legal filings and retractions.

The former Bitboy Crypto host had alleged that the Shedds illegally ousted from the media brand and its parent company.

Armstrong’s recent social media appeal for donations to fund his legal campaign raised a few eyebrows since the ex-Bitboy host often wore Gucci tracksuits and, of course, drove a Lamborghini.

The news about authorities arresting Bitboy Crypto sparked several rumors about the nature of charges against the crypto influencer.

Several users shared posts that alleged Armstrong faced narcotics possession and other charges.

For example, a crypto-related X account posted that when the police arrested Armstrong, the former Bitboy Crypto host was “with his mistress,” had a gun, and was “under the influence of narcotics.”

However, a listing on the Gwinnett County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Office shows the authorities arresting Benjamin Charles Armstrong on Sept. 26. Several influencers on crypto Twitter (now X) shared screenshots of the listing, claiming it to be the arrest record for Bitboy Crypto’s arrest.

Interestingly, the official listing shows the charges against Armstrong include “Loitering/Prowling” and “Simple assault by placing another in fear.”

The charges carry a combined bond of $2,600.

BEN Token Price Plummets

Meanwhile, BEN coin, a meme token associated with Armstrong since his Bitboy Crypto days, plummeted after news of Amrstrong’s arrest hit the wires. Moreover, there were rumors that the token might have had a hand in Armstrong’s departure from the Bitboy Crypto YouTube channel.

On May 10, the crypto influencer sold all his BEN tokens after promising not to do so for at least six months, sparking a crash that saw the BEN token price plummet over 77% since May 10 to reach a low near $0.000000039 on May 13.

Now, news of the former Bitboy’s arrest resulted in another drop in the token’s prices. BEN price dropped nearly 27% to a daily low near $0.0000000158 before recovering marginally. The BEN token price then started crabbing near the $0.000000016 price level.
