YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — Ethereum (ETH) founder Vitalik Buterin has become a Twitter meme. To be precise, a picture of him appearing to be ‘excited’ has been shared thousands of times. The incident has given birth to a new token called VitalikBigDickInu (VDICK).

For context,  Ethereum (ETH) is a popular cryptocurrency and is ranked as the second most popular digital asset as of this writing and is often traded against other cryptocurrencies in what is known as a trading pair such as Ethereum against Tether or ETH USDT. Like other cryptocurrencies, the Ethereum price is subject to fluctuations based on supply and demand, as well as market news and events.

Of course, with the Ethereum Merge upgrade around the corner, Buterin has every reason to be excited, But why are Twitteratis roasting him?

That’s a weird picture, Vitalik.

The entire fiasco started when a picture of one girl standing next to Vitalik Buternin appeared on Twitter. Wearing a white T-shirt that read “Ethereum,” the young lady seemed excited to meet Buterin.

However, it was not the girl that caught everyone’s attention. Instead, it was Buterin, or, to be specific, something in Buterin’s pants that left people scratching their heads.

Right below his belt, Vitalik sports what looks like an erection. Of course, we do not want to speculate, but if it is what it seems to be, what got him so excited?

Among those that commented on it was a crypto analyst and CryptoLark host Lark Davis. He cracked an industrial joke using a pun to hint at Buterin’s unusual large package.

Another cryptocurrency influencer and Shiba Inu (SHIB) maximalist, ShibKnight, also cracked a similar joke.

“I hereby appoint Vitalik as the new $BONE Ambassador,”

he wrote, referring to one of the tokens of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, and, of course, his boner.

Selling Vitalik Buterin’s picture as NFT

The nonfungible token (NFT) industry did not want to feel left out of the action. Therefore, it was no surprise that someone decided to turn the picture into an NFT.

Vitalik’s picture is unavailable on OpenSea and has a price tag of 42.69 ETH (over $65,000). Although it is unlikely that someone will buy it (caveat-we have seen weirder things happen), someone has already made a $15 offer on it.

One woman went one step further. She purchased the ENS name ETHrection.eth before someone else grabbed it. Now she proudly flaunts the reference to Vitalik’s boner on her Twitter profile

Have you heard of the VitalikBigDickInu (VDICK) token?

You would be disappointed if you thought people would be content with NFTs and ENS name references to the picture.

As soon as the photo went viral, some people got together to launch a new token in its honor. The VitalikBigDickToken (VDICK) is now live and trades on platforms such as Uniswap and Saddle.

Several crypto wallets, including Metamask, TrustWallet, and Trezor, support the token, according to The Bit Times.

As the Ethereum founder prepares for the launch of the Merge upgrade, one can only hope the jokes on Twitter have brightened up his day. However, we will never know what got him excited unless he speaks up.
