He has done it again! US President Joe Biden “applauds” China in the Canadian parliament

YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — “A slip of a tongue is no fault of the mind,” an old saying goes. When it comes to Joe Biden, however, you can never be sure.

The US President has somewhat become famous for his gaffes and verbal goof-ups. He has been seen losing his sense of direction on stage, speaking in incoherent sentences, and mumbling inaudible words during his speeches, among other embarrassing things.

In the latest incident of a major slip-up, he mistakenly applauded China during his official visit to Canada.

While addressing the members of the country’s Parliament in Ottawa last week, Biden allowed his mind to run ahead of his mouth. In an attempt to praise Canada for its migration policies, good old Joe mentioned China instead.

“Today, I applaud China for stepping up..Excuse me, I applaud Canada. You an tell what I am thinking…”

 Biden said.

The Canadian lawmakers immediately broke out into loud laughter. Although the 80-year-old corrected himself immediately, the video has gone viral on social media.

Opponents and critics trash Joe Biden over China remark

As one would expect, President Biden’s remark on China did not slip the attention of his political opponents. Several Republicans flaunted it as proof that Biden is not mentally stable enough to run the country. Some even called for his resignation, asking the Democrat to step down.

Former US President and Biden’s Republican rival Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump also shared the clip on social media. In his post, the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization called Biden “an embarrassment to the United States of America.”

Republican Congresswoman from Georgia Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed Joe Biden for allegedly getting kickbacks from Chinese companies.

Republicans have slammed President Biden for his suspicious involvement with Chinese companies.

As Greg Price, the communications director of the State Freedom Caucus Network, pointed out, the goof-up comes when leaked intelligence reports alleged that China interfered in Canada’s federal elections.

“It’s even funnier when you realize that we just learned members of Biden’s family got millions of dollars from a Chinese energy company and how the biggest political story in Canada right now is how China interfered in their last two elections to elect Trudeau’s party,”

Price tweeted

In March 2022, during his State of the Union Speech, Biden allowed another similar gaffe. He called the Ukrainians “the Iranian people,” causing opponents to question his mental stability.

In what came across as an embarrassing slip-up, the US President said,

“Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he will never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”

Good old Joe is not new to controversies. While many question his ability to Govern at age 80, he has already announced his intentions to run again for reelection. Will he succeed in securing the nomination from his party? Maybe, if he stops these bloopers.
