LAGOS (CoinChapter.com) — Creators of a relatively new cryptocurrency, “Elon GOAT,” have created a 12,000-pound sculpture of the world’s richest man to get him to legitimize their token, which was named after him.

In detail, a group of cryptocurrency entrepreneurs at the weekend delivered a $600,000 worth sculpture of Elon Musk’s head atop the body of a goat riding a rocket to Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. In a ceremony dubbed ‘Goatsgiving,’’ the entrepreneurs said they created the sculpture to honor Musk and his commitment to cryptocurrency.

Musk’s sculpture has many distinct features, including a gold-plated Dogecoin necklace on the goat’s body. Also, the rocket it is placed on can move, pointing to the sky as if it is taking off. Gas lines run through it so flames can shoot out of the statue’s back.

However, this bold move by the token founders and marketing crew failed to catch the attention of Tesla’s CEO. Reportedly, they parked the sculpture outside the Tesla building for hours without seeing Elon Musk.

Dustin Dailey, the security officer at Tesla, spoke to the entrepreneurs and said they couldn’t accept the sculpture on Musk’s behalf. He, however, indicated that he would find a spot for the statue on their property if the CEO gave the go-ahead. But so far, Musk hasn’t given any indication whether he would accept it or whether he knew the sculpture was there.

Meanwhile, Alec Wolvert, an Elon GOAT co-founder and chief marketing officer, noted that they planned on camping outside on a piece of public land about 150 feet away from Tesla’s Gigafactory until Elon Musk accepted the sculpture.

He posted that the world’s richest man accepting the sculpture would legitimize their token. “We’re gonna stay here as long as possible,” Wolvert said. Similarly, Ashley Sansalone, a co-founder of the Elon GOAT token, argued that Musk tweeting about EGT would legitimize the token.

He explained that the goal was to get Musk to tweet about the sculpture to his more than 118 million followers. This, according to her, will draw attention to their cryptocurrency, increasing its adoption utility. Additionally, Sansalone previously worked at a construction company but works full-time on the token.

Meanwhile, Kevin Stone, a metal sculptor in British Columbia, Canada, created the giant sculpture with Elon Musk’s head. Stone disclosed that the sculpture took nearly six months to complete.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that this isn’t the first time crypto entrepreneurs have sought an audience with Musk. In September, they took the sculpture to Tesla’s office in California during the company’s artificial intelligence conference.

According to Sansalone, several Tesla employees crossed the street to take pictures of the sculpture. But, according to his Twitter posts, he claimed that Musk was at the conference but didn’t acknowledge the sculpture.

EGT Down 40%

Meanwhile, Elon GOAT’s (EGT) value is plummeting as its founder continues to pursue Elon Musk’s approval. Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum, or fellow meme coin Dogecoin, Elon GOAT token is far from a household cryptocurrency name.

The token, according to Coingecko, is ranked outside the largest cryptocurrencies by market value. On the day, the token was down by about 40%, exchanging hands at $0.00049. Additionally, Elon GOAT has a 24-hour trading volume of $360,500 and a total supply of 9 billion coins.
