YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — As the Russia-Ukraine war continues into its eighth month, the Kremlin seems determined to inflict as much damage as possible. In the latest development, Vladimir Putin has ordered his forces to attack the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. According to reports, Iranian Kamikaze drones were wildly used in the recent Kyiv Bombings.

In what comes as the second attack on the city in one week, the bombings created havoc in the central Shevchenkivskyi district of Ukraine’s capital.

Shevchenkivskiy is one of the busiest hubs of Kyiv, with many universities, restaurants, bars, and residential buildings located in the area.

Although authorities have not reported any casualties yet, many of these buildings have suffered damage. At least one building has also gone up in flames as a result of the Kyiv Bombings.

Rescue services are still looking for people under the rubble, according to authorities. Vitalii Klitschko the Mayor of Kyiv posted about the attack on Monday morning.

The mayor of Kyiv confirmed the Russian attacks on Kyiv using Kamikaze drones.

In a subsequent Tweet, Klitschko also urged Kyiv’s residents to stay indoors as much as possible.

“Traffic is blocked on sections of several streets in the cenre of the capital. I appeal to the residents of Kyiv, do not go to the city center without an urgent need. Also, don’t ignore the air sirens. Let’s be conscious and take care of our own safety! Let’s stand together!”

Iran is supplying Moscow with weapons in the Russia-Ukraine war

The latest attack has once again shed light on the role of Iran in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. While the West intensifies sanctions on the Kremlin, Tehran has used the opportunity to test its weapons in the war.

On October 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky alleged Russia was using Iranian drones to attack his country.

“It’s a heavy morning. We are dealing with terrorists. Dozens of missiles, Iranian Shaheeds…They seek panic and chaos, they want to destroy our energy system,”

Zelensky said in his video address.

Hours later, in a meeting with the leaders of the G7 countries, Zelensky claimed Russia has ordered 2,400 Shaheed drones from Iran.

The Mayor of Ukraine also shared a picture showing the alleged wreckage of the Iranian Kamikaze drone from Monday’s attack.

Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian president’s staff, also said the attacks were carried out with so-called suicide drones.

“Russians think this will help them, but such actions are just their convulsions,”

Yermak said on Telegram.

Meanwhile, Iran has denied supplying weapons to the Kremlin during the ongoing war.

The drone attacks on Kyiv come days after the attack on the Kerch bridge. The Crimea bridge, as it is more popularly known, connects Russia to the Crimean Peninsula, which the Kremlin annexed from Ukraine back in 2014.

As CoinChapter earlier reported, Russia has blamed Ukraine for the attack amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
