NIGERIA (CoinChapter.com) — Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event would occur in a metaverse alongside other social media platforms on Feb. 9, 2022.

The South Korean smartphone maker noted that viewers would watch the event at its metaverse known as “Samsung 837X,” a virtual re-creation of its New York City store location.

837X has been built inside Decentraland, an emerging metaverse platform that would enable users to watch the event virtually across the world. Meanwhile, participants will also embark on various quests to earn nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and other exciting prizes after the event’s conclusion.

Although the crypto community has expressed delight with the news of the 2022 Galaxy Unpacked taking place in the metaverse. It’s important to note that Samsung initially entered the metaverse via the ZEPETO platform with the release of “My House.”

Later in 2021, Samsung created “My House” inside the ZEPETO metaverse. The initiative was a virtual house where people use Samsung products to decorate and furniture.

According to the smartphone maker, the Samsung My House metaverse has surpassed four million cumulative visits in less than one month.

Lee Young-hee, Samsung electronic’ global marketing VP, applauded the growth of the new initiative. He explained that the success of the Samsung metaverse would propagate the company to invest more in the blockchain.

“Based on the success of My House, we plan to expand our marketing activities to meet the needs of the MZ generation by continuously developing a customer experience optimized for the metaverse,” Young-hee said.
