YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com)- A Shiba Inu whale has sent more bullish signs for the Dogecoin knockoff meme coin. The whale, who goes by ‘Light,’ recently filled his coffers with an additional 58.9 billion SHIB tokens. In fiat currency terms, the transaction cost him $1.9 million.
Crypto whale tracking website WhaleStats broke the news on Twitter. According to them, although the whale’s identity is unknown, s/he is the third-largest Ethereum whale by wallet size.
“ETH whale “Light” just bought 58,900,000,000 $shib ($1,906,592 USD),”
WhaleStats tweeted.
Data from WhaleStats suggest that Light is also the second-largest Shiba Inu holder, with a total of $1,161,216,770 worth in SHIB tokens. Their portfolio is dominated by the meme coin, which accounts for 32.43% at the time of writing. The unidentified whale has reportedly been acquiring SHIB since August 2021, making them one of the most bullish SHIB holders out there.

Amid the recent surge in prices following the market slump, SHIB joined the altcoin rally led by the original meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE). A rumor on Twitter claiming cryptocurrency exchange Robinhood will list SHIB as early as February propelled a jump in the price of the meme token. SHIB surged almost 20% on Nov. 12 alone, reaching $0.00003112 before shedding most of the gains on Thursday. Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) price currently stands at $0.00003112, according to CoinGecko.
Although charts suggest SHIB has broken the resistance levels of $0.000027, it remains 63% below its all-time high of $0.00008, which it attained on Oct. 8, 2021.
The Shib Army has been pushing Robinhood to list the meme token for quite some time now. On their part, Robinhood executives have done nothing but procrastinate, raising doubts if they will ever list the token at all. As usual, Robinhood has not confirmed the rumors about onboarding SHIB.
Last year, Shiba Inu (SHIB) beat Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) to become the most viewed cryptocurrency on CoinMarketCap. The Dogecoin knockoff received more than 188 million views in 2021, leaving Bitcoin to trail second with 145 million views.
