In detail, Xi Jinping said that Beijing will strengthen its military training to prepare for any war. He also warned while speaking at a party congress that the nation’s security is increasingly unstable and “dangerous storms” is on the horizon.

The Chinese president instructed his military to double its efforts towards safeguarding China’s national sovereignty, security and development interests. In fact, he urged the armed forces to thoroughly study, publicise and implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress.

“We will strengthen the normal and diversified use of military forces, carry out military struggles with determination and flexibility, shape the security posture, contain crises and conflicts, and win local wars.”

Xi Jinping said.

The Chinese president also noted that his army will focus on ensuring it has a world-class armed force by 2027. Xi who recently secured a third term as party leader revealed that more stringent policy will be enacted to dissuade to prevent the US from interfering in the region.

Recall that Xi also ordered the army to focus on war preparation in 2013 immediately after he took power. Moreover, last month called for faster military development and strength in technology, which raised the likelihood of conflict.

Xi Jinping Is Sending A Message To The US —Expert

Meanwhile, as a result of Xi Jinping’s aggressive action experts have indicated that the Asian country is taking a necessary stance against US intervention in its region.

Willy Lam, a senior fellow at the Washington-based Jamestown Foundation said “Xi Jinping is sending a message to the United States and Taiwan.” Lam further argues that Xi’s decision to prepare for war is not based on rational thinking.

It is worth noting that the US has been preventing China from annexing Taiwan. Xi had repeatedly described Taiwan as a key part of his legacy and even vowed to use of force to claim the country. However, President Joe Biden has repeatedly pledged that the US would defend Taiwan if it was attacked.

Although tension between the countries started building up after US House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, visited Taiwan in August. Xi’s China described the visit as provocative and a challenge to its territorial integrity. The Chinese government, however, retaliate with a show of strength and force by conducting large-scale military drills over Taiwan.

Additionally, this week a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson criticized the UK trade minister Greg Hands’ visit to Taiwan. He warned the British government to cease sending wrong signals to separatist forces for Taiwan’s independence.

Former Australian Military Personnel To Train China’s Army

Meanwhile, in a parallel development, report have emerged that Australian Air Force pilots are working with the Chinese military. According to the report, Australian former defense force personnel are being recruited to train China’s army.

Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles confirmed the development in a statement shared with the general public. He however disclosed that he has ordered the county’s Defence Force to review its policies, preventing its ex-military personnel from training in China.

Mr Marles said he had asked the ADF to “urgently investigate” the claims. He added that a deep evaluation of defense policies and procedures was warranted. He said:

“The information provided to me so far presents enough evidence to warrant the need for a detailed examination into the adequacy of current defense policies and procedures addressing this matter. I have therefore instructed the department to commence that process.”
