YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, is the new owner of Twitter (TWTR), and his first task after taking over the social media giant is firing its top executives. BAD BLOOD detected!
Musk fired Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal after going through the controversial $44 billion deal. But interestingly, the billionaire entrepreneur also got rid of CFO Ned Segal and the head of legal policy, trust, and safety, Vijaya Gadde.
The Tesla CEO has constantly been at loggerheads with Agrawal. Their verbal spat has sometimes become public through various posts and comments where the two have criticized each other.
Musk has accused Agrawal of hiding from the public that over 5% of Twitter users are bots or fake profiles.
After Musk tried to escape from his initial plan to buy the company, the former CEO and his team took the billionaire to court to enforce the acquisition.
Twitter and Musk were due in court this month. However, after Musk revealed he would go ahead with the acquisition, the case was pushed back, and the judge gave Musk till October 28th to complete the purchase.
As CoinChapter earlier, the Tesla CEO has allegedly planned to fire 75% of Twitter’s over 7000 employees.
Earlier this week, Musk posted a video of himself entering the Twitter headquarters carrying a sink. His post contained a pun- “Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!”
Musk also updated his Twitter description to “Chief Twit.” Later today, after the final purchase, he claimed, “The bird is freed.”

Although Agrawal may have been Elon Musk’s foe number one, he wasn’t the only Indian-origin Twitter executive making headlines. Vijaya Gadde, the social media giant’s head of legal policy, has caught media attention again.
Supporters of former US President Donald Trump are celebrating her exit from the company. Gadde was instrumental in banning Trump from Twitter last year.
As the person in charge, she spearheaded a campaign to suspend Trump. The decision came after he praised his supporters who stormed Capitol Hill following his loss to Joe Biden in the early elections.
The account of DonaldTrump has been permanently suspended from Twitter due to the risk of further violence. We’ve also published our policy enforcement analysis,”
Gadde Tweeted in January 2021.
On Thursday, the Tesla CEO posted a detailed message to advertisers explaining the reasons behind his acquisition of Twitter. He explained that he would not allow Twitter to become “a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said with no consequences!”
However, he assured me that under him, the company would strive to become the most respected advertising platform in the world.
“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence,”
Musk wrote in the message.
The world’s richest man has started filtering out his adversaries from the company. In the coming weeks, one can expect to see more exists. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Donald Trump will return to the social media giant after Elon Musk fired Twitter employees.
