“NFTs in cricket allows us to connect with our fans like never before. I am happy to partner with Colexion and share precious tokens from my cricketing journey with those who have loved and encouraged me every step of the way,”
Yuvraj said.
The Padma Shri awardee also endorsed the idea of NFTs by claiming in the video that NFTs are not only the future but are the present.
Colexion’s NFT empire is growing with Yuvraj Singh NFTs
Colexion is one of the largest NFT platforms for sports and celebrity collectibles. The company has signed many local and international superstars, including cricketers and entertainment megastars. Yuvraj Singh, other than releasing his NFT collection, is also an investor of Colexion.
The platform recently roped in Bollywood star Suniel Shetty as its investor and advisor. India’s major Ethereum platform Polygon also threw its weight behind the project.
Colexion has collaborated with mega sports stars like Pankaj Advani, Glenn Maxwell, and Brendon McCullum earlier. The platform’s list of cricketers also includes Dwayne DJ Bravo, the former captain of the West Indies cricket team. Music composer duo Salim-Sulaiman, cricketers Varun Chakravarthy, Bollywood, and TV stars Tanuj Virwani and Aamir Ali are also among the celebrities listed by the platform.
🚨NFT DROP ALERT – 4 Days to go🚨
For the first time ever NFTs of 30 renowned celebrities and cricketers will be launched together on the 12th of December 2021 only on Colexion – Asia's Largest Marketplace for Licensed NFTs!
“It is a pleasure to have a cricketer like Yuvraj Singh on board. We are creating interesting digital spaces for him to engage with his fans who will now be able to ‘own’ special moments of his career,”
Abhay Aggarwal, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Colexion, said.
Other than NFTs, Colexion also plans to release a Play to Earn (P2E) game for its users in the vast Indian sports fan market.
However, it warrants a mention that Yuvraj Singh is not the first Indian cricketer to join the NFT fray. Former Captain of the Indian National Team Sunil Gavaskar released his collection last month. The cricket hall of fame-er launched his NFT set on AlwaysFirst.
The likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Suniel Shetty, Salman Khan, and Sunny Leone are already in the space. Yuvraj Singh NFTs will add another special Indian endorsement to nonfungible tokens.
