- Two IRS officers have testified against Hunter Biden.
- According to them, the investigation against Joe Biden’s son was rigged.
- Some Republicans have blamed Hunter Biden for paying prostitutes from his firm and availing tax benefits against those payments.
YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — In a highly-watched development, two investigators from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have testified before the US Congress, claiming that the investigation into Hunter Biden’s tax returns faced hindrances from justice department officials, allegedly for political reasons.
The duo included IRS supervisory special agent Gary Shapley and the agency’s criminal investigator Joseph Ziegler.
However, what took center stage of the evening were allegations that the US President’s son paid prostitutes through his law firm, OWASCO PC, and trafficked his victims across state lines. This, according to allegations, is a violation of the Mann Act.
The Mann Act makes it illegal to transport any woman or girl for prostitution. The US Federal Law is also called the White-Slave Traffic Act of 1910.
To make matters worse, Hunter Biden allegedly deducted payments to prostitutes and adult clubs from his law firm’s taxes.
Last month, reports broke that the IRS had dismissed the investigative team involved in probing the financial dealings of President Joe Biden’s son. The move sparked controversy and raised concerns about the impartiality and transparency of the investigation.
US Congresswoman digs into Hunter Biden’s past
During the House Oversight Committee hearing, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) tore into the questionable past of Hunter Biden. In a shocking move, she surprised attendees by displaying several barely-censored boards featuring images allegedly depicting President Joe Biden’s son.
The boards show Hunter engaging in intimate encounters with various women. Through one of the graphics on display, Representative Green claimed that “Hunter recorded multiple sex tapes with a prostitute he paid for out of his law firm’s bank account.”
Greene went as far as declaring that there is evidence that Hunter Biden was involved in pornography.
However, the witnesses present at the hearing, Joseph Ziegler and Gary Shapley, were there to discuss an IRS investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes. They did not confirm any specific intent by the Department of Justice to charge Biden under the Mann Act.
Meanwhile, they did clarify that Hunter Biden had made inappropriate business deductions related to a sex club membership and escorts.
Did the investigation favor Hunter Biden?
During their public testimony, the two IRS officers stated that throughout the investigation involving Hunter Biden, certain decisions that appeared to favor the president’s son were made.
The two whistleblowers also leveled accusations against Delaware Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf, who serves as an assistant to David Weiss, claiming that she repeatedly obstructed further inquiries into Hunter Biden.
According to their accounts, she rejected a request for a search warrant of Joe Biden’s Wilmington home. Hunter Biden allegedly stored some of his financial records, citing concerns over “optics.”
Furthermore, they asserted that she impeded investigators from delving into Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s financial matters. Moreover, Mrs. Wolf allegedly refused permission to interview Joe Biden’s adult grandchildren about their connections to deductions claimed on Hunter Biden’s tax returns.
The Whistleblowers also alleged that they were denied access to some evidence in the investigation. One such piece of evidence, according to Mr. Sharpley, was Hunter Biden’s laptop.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer also accused President Joe Biden and his family of massive corruption in his opening remarks.
According to him, the Bidens created over 20 shell companies. Moreover, they received millions from foreign firms in exchange for their influence and contacts.
