YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — North Korea continues to get ready for war. Kim Jong Un, the country’s dictator, has ordered his armed forces to improve combat readiness and strengthen preparedness. The latest command comes amid escalated tension with its neighbor South Korea.
The United States, the strongest ally of the Republic of Korea, has also become a target for North Korea.
In November 2022, Kim Jong Un presided over a test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The exercise was seen as a deliberate provocation. The rocket landed 200 km (124 miles) outside of the Japanese island Oshima-Oshima.
In October 2022, the United States and South Korea conducted military drills. North Korea accused the West of intentionally escalating tensions in the region. Pyongyang called it “dangerous war drill of very high aggressive nature.“

North Korea to show strength at a military parade
According to local reports, Kim chaired the Monday meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party’s Central Military Commission. He is said to have encouraged the armed forces to perform “ever-victorious feats” and display “matchless military strength” in the upcoming military drills.

The exercise, which will mark the 75th founding anniversary of its armed forces, will show the growing strength of the Korean People’s Army. Kim has reportedly ordered the army to showcase the latest military hardware and arsenal at the parade to send a warning to the US and its allies.
As per a report by the Korean Central News Agency (KNCA), the top military brass also discussed “the issue of constantly expanding and intensifying the operation and combat drills” and “strictly perfecting the preparedness for war.”
Last year, Kim Jong Un fired more than 70 ballistic missiles, including those designed to carry nuclear weapons. Pyongyang never hid the fact that it had designed the weapons to strike targets in not only South Korea but also in the United States.
With the world already enrolled in Ukraine, North Korea sees this as a perfect opportunity to strike. Even if a war does not break out, speaking from the position of a nuclear power works to its advantage.
Meanwhile, a Seoul official said on Monday that South Korea’s military is monitoring the “increased activities” by North Korea in preparations for the military parade.
