Los Angeles (CoinChapter.com) — Oscar-winning rapper Eminem will launch his first non-fungible token (NFT) this weekend, Oakland Press reported.
The artist, also known by his real name, Marshall Mathers, announced his NFT plans on social media. He will be releasing a one-time digital item on Sunday, April 25, through Nifty Gateway.
Further details weren’t immediately provided but Nifty Gateway hinted that more information will be released soon.
Eminem’s decision to launch his very own non-fungible token comes just weeks after popular skit show Saturday Night Live attempted to explain the craze through the rapper’s 2002 hit song “Without Me.”
Actors Pete Davidson and Chris Redd broke down everything there is to know about NFTs in the form of a parody music video. Davidson raps in the sketch while dressed up as Eminem’s fake superhero character Rap Boy from the “Without Me” video.
“Now, what’s an NFT? Apparently cryptocurrency! Everyone’s making so much money. Can you please explain what’s an NFT?”

Eminem becomes the latest musician to enter the non-fungible token market, joining Blood Pop, A$AP Rocky, Disclosure, The White Stripes, Kings of Leon, and Lil Pump.
Athletes have also capitalized on the NFT craze by launching their own digital items. This perhaps is most evident with Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot. An online marketplace where users can buy and sell digital cards.
Topps also recently launched its first MLB card NFT collection. At the same time, WWE took the same approach for their wrestlers before the flagship WrestleMania 37.
Like Eminem, Grammy Award-winning artist Ryan Tedder will debut his first NFT collection on Origin. These one-time tokens will collaborate with Swiss graffiti artist Bustart and will go live on Tuesday, April 27.
All visual and audio elements are custom-created for the collection and will celebrate a throwback to Ryan’s youth and view of life.
