YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) – The nonfungible tokens (NFT) industry continues to create headlines.

In the latest news coming from OpenSea, a relatively lesser-known NFT project has overtaken the much-coveted Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). The play-to-earn (p2e) gaming platform NFT Worlds soared 230% in the past week as individuals and companies rushed to buy digital land on the platform.

The project currently has the highest sales volume in the past seven days on the largest NFT marketplace, following claims that it would “create the first truly decentralized, cross-platform (computers/consoles) ecosystem.” Excerpts from its official document:

“NFT Worlds is a fully decentralized, fully customizable, community driven, play to earn gaming platform where world owners can create their own limitless metaverse games or experiences for players or exclusive communities within their worlds.”

The collection consists of 10,000 worlds. Owners can use their NFTs to build their Metaverse projects on them. They can also integrate them with various games and multiplayer platforms.

At the time of writing, the floor price of NFT Worlds is $15.1 Ethereum (ETH) or over $39,000. After the latest rise, other Metaverse projects like Decenterland or Sandbox were also trailing behind.

The project also flipped another major project from Yuga Labs. For a brief few hours, the floor price of NFT Worlds passed that of Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC). However, it soon fell back to 15 ETH against the over 18 ETH floor price of MAYC.

The project has also floated a native token, the $WRLD. While writing, WRLD is exchanging hands for $0.4519, according to data by CoinMarketCap.

Don’t have money to buy a World NFT? Rent it!

As stated above, ownership of an NFT allows holders to design and create their own Metaverse experience. From games to events and more, each ‘world’ can host various projects.

However, for those that do not wish to buy an NFT World or cannot afford one, the project will let them rent it long-term.

“To solve this we’ve created a rental system where you can rent long term usage of a world and all of its ownership access using our rental system that will be released later this year. This system will allow you to rent complete ownership of a world from an existing world owner for a set amount of $WRLD token per month,”

In addition, owners can also stake their World NFTs to earn passive income in the form of the in-game token WRLD. As the news continues to get attention from the digital collectible buffs, the project’s native token will also stand to gain in the days to come.
