YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — The Nord Stream pipeline explosion in the Economic Zones of Sweden and Denmark has shocked the world.
Both countries have declared the explosions deliberate sabotage, but no one has been deemed responsible yet. However, new evidence had emerged indicating that Russian vessels were photographed near the blast site just days before the explosions occurred.
This evidence has caused a fresh stir around one of the most closely guarded investigations into who is responsible for the attacks.
Denmark’s military had confirmed that it photographed several Russian vessels near the blast site days before the explosions occurred.
There are now questions about Russia’s involvement, especially since the country is heavily invested in the pipeline. The Nord Stream pipeline is a crucial energy source for Europe, and as we now know, disruptions to its supply brought on economic and political consequences.
Following a Freedom of Information Request, it was revealed that 26 photographs were of a Russian vessel designated as SS-750, which can be equipped with a small submarine.
There is a possibility that the vessel was sabotaged, considering that a small submarine could be used to plant explosives on the pipeline. However, it is important to note that there is no concrete evidence linking Russian vessels to the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage.
There are theories, of course, since the explosions occurred.
One theory is that a charge was placed on the Nord Stream pipelines to cause huge explosions. Sibiryakov, a Russian research vessel, has been mentioned in this theory. The vessel is “perfectly capable of conducting that operation.”
However, no evidence supports this, and it remains just that – a theory.
Another theory is that sabotage was carried out by an environmental group that opposes the pipeline. Environmentalists have criticized the Nord Stream pipeline for its potential environmental impact. However, this has also been dismissed due to the sophistication of the attacks.
It is unlikely that an environmental group would have the expertise to carry out such a complex act of sabotage. There has been much speculation about the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage, but nothing has been proven yet.
