‘Buy The Dip’ Promo To Connect Chipotle With Web3 Community

Chipotle’s chief marketing officer, Chris Brandt, has posited that the “buy the dip” campaign will boost the restaurant’s popularity in the web3 community. Brandt noted that the restaurant chain was excited and looking to increase its influence in the crypto industry.

“We want to build the next generation of Chipotle fandom by connecting with the Web3 community. We’re excited to bring positivity to the crypto conversation.”

Brandt said.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Chipotle has engaged with cryptocurrency. In April 2021, the restaurant ran a “Burritos or Bitcoin” promo campaign that gave away $100,000 in BTC.

Chipotle Now Accepts 98 Different Digital Currencies

Meanwhile, it is important to note that Chipotle recently began accepting digital currency. The restaurant chain tapped Flexa for crypto payment and currently accepts 98 different digital currencies at its outlets.

Several other top food chains have also organized similar crypto giveaways for their customers.

In November 2021, Burger King tapped Robinhood to gift customers Bitcoin, Ether, and DOGE. Similarly, McDonald’s China branch started a campaign for customers to win 188 nonfungible tokens celebrating its 31st anniversary.

Pizza Hut last year also started accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment in Venezuela. According to the franchise CEO in Venezuela, Richard Elkhouri, Pizza Hut combined innovative technology with good food.

Starbucks also allows its reward members to turn cryptocurrencies into cash balances on the Starbucks app. Similarly, like Chipotle, Starbucks originally partnered with Flexa but now uses another third-party app. Starbucks went further to announce plans to create a digital community Web3 platform. It is also planning to issue and release non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
