YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has announced that he is a fan of Narendra Modi. The controversial billionaire, who is known for ruffling feathers, claimed he is impressed with Modi after meeting the Indian Prime Minister in New York. The Indian politician and Bharata Janata Party (BJP) leader is in the United States on an official visit at the invitation of US President Joe Biden.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Modi, Musk said the Indian prime minister cares about his country and “wants to do the right thing for India.”
“It was a fantastic meeting with the Prime Minister. I like him quite a lot…He wants to be open, he wants to be supportive of new companies, obviously, but at the same time, make sure it accrues to India’s advantage… I am a fan of Modi, I have to say that,”
Musk told reporters.
Musk also recalled his earlier meeting with Modi in 2015. The Indian PM visited the Tesla Motors factory in California one year after getting elected.
The Indian Prime Minister shared the news of his meeting with Elon Musk on Twitter. Replying to Narendra Modi, Musk said that “it was an honor to meet again” before sharing the post on his page.
According to the SpaceX Chief, the Indian Prime Minister has invited him to visit India, which he intends to do next year.

Of late, Elon Musk’s company Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has been trying to make significant investments in India. As per reports, he discussed his plans to set up an electric vehicle manufacturing base in India with the Prime Minister.
According to Musk, India has the potential to pivot to a low-cost, sustainable future by using alternative sources of energy, primarily solar, and wind. Per his calculations, just 1%-2% of India’s land area is enough to generate enough electricity to power the country.
Electric vehicles, which his company Tesla produces, will help India build a sustainable energy future.
“I am confident Tesla will be in India and will do so as soon as humanly possible,”
Musk added.
Musk became the executive chairman of Twitter after acquiring it in October last year. which has had run-ins with Modi’s government.
Musk also said he is looking forward to rolling out his company’s “Starlink” internet connection to India to connect the remote villages in the country.
The Twitter head also said that he will make sure the social media giant follows the legislature in India. The clarification comes a week after
Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey said Modi’s Government had threatened to shut it down for failing to follow its distinct directives.
This marks Narendra Modi’s fifth visit to the US since becoming Prime Minister in 2014. President Joe Biden will also hold a special state dinner in his honor.
