UFC Strike went live on Sunday, Jan 23, 2022.

The NFT product would also provide another income window for the franchise and Athletes. The MMA has confirmed the digital collectibles will feature some of its biggest stars, including Francis Ngannou and Amanda Nunes, Kamaru Usman, Rose Namajunas, Derrick Lewis, and Justin Gaethije.

According to a statement on the UFC website, the first drop will consist of 200,000 total packs. 100,000 “Fully Loaded” packs, consisting of three NFT Moments capturing incredible finishes and amazing displays of striking and grappling from UFC fighters, would first be released.

The NFTs would also include the best action shots from multiple camera angles, announcer commentary, and crowd response from actual fights. UFC, Dapper Labs drinking dip into NFT wine as frenzy deepens

The NFT market has become big over the years, and it’s only continuing to grow as it goes more mainstream by the day.

Similarly, UFC’s relationship with Dapper Labs stretches back to 2019. The organization was one of the first to sign a deal with the then-nascent crypto collectible company.

Dapper Labs head of partnerships Caty Tedman said the firm wasn’t set up to manage multiple new, growing products previously. But now, the company has expanded with dedicated teams for different sports products, which includes an NFL collectible platform.

Beyond Dapper Lab’s partnership with UFC in the NFT space, the blockchain firm has previously partnered with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Football League (NFL).

Dapper Lab created the NBA’s Top Shot and the NFL’s All Day NFT marketplaces. This year, the digital collectibles company is also set to launch a similar platform for Spanish soccer’s top-flight LaLiga.

UFC set to launch metaverse space?

Tracey Bleszinski, UFC’s SVP of global consumer products, hinted about UFC metaverse during an interview while reacting to the UFC Strike launch.

He said the utility has become a common element of NFT releases, and UFC figures to be no different. The UFC executive said it has to be delivered either s in the form of digital exclusives or in-person benefits. Bleszinski said UFC is actively discussing future uses.

“Everyone’s talking about the metaverse right now,” Bleszinski said. “It’s such a dynamic, emerging space, but gaming, content, NFTs, experiences—it’s all going to intersect.”
