YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — Taking a cheap shot at Joe Biden, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has asked voters not to vote for him again because he is too old and will die in office if re-elected.

Haley, who served as the 116th governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, made her predictions in an interview on the Fox News show “America Reports.”

“He’s announced that he is running again in 2024. I think we can all be very clear and say with a matter of fact that if you vote for Joe Biden, you really are counting on a President Harris, because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not something that I think is likely,”

she said.

Political rivalry between the Republicans and Democrats is not void of insults and controversies. However, several Americans have found the remark undignified and unbecoming of a presidential candidate.

“I’m sick of this casual ageism. It’s very individual. Some people are decrepit at 70, while others can handle a full work schedule into their 90s. Biden has been handling a schedule that person 20 years younger would be hard-pressed to meet. Haley should apologize,”

Will Kamala Harris become US President if Biden is reelected?

Earlier this week, Joe Biden announced that both he and his Vice President Kamala Harris will seek re-election. The Democrat duo defeated Republican rivals Donald Trump and Mike Pence in 2020 to claim the country’s top two offices.

With the two determined to seek a second term, it puts Kamala Harris in a position to become the first Woman president of the United States. However, for this to be happy, as Nikki Haley predicts, they should first win in 2024.

Joe Biden is 80 years old. If he wins re-election, it will make him the first octogenarian in office. If he completes a second full term in office, he will end his tenure at 86.

But should he fail to complete his term, by either becoming ill, unable to perform his duties, or dying in office (God forbid), then Harris stands to become President by law.

Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States, explained this scenario well in 1989. Answering a young girl’s question, he predicted that a woman US Vice President will become the first woman US President after the death of a sitting male President.

“Either the Republican or Democrat political party will nominate a man for president and a woman for vice president, and the woman and man will win…. And in that term of office of the president, the president will die, and the woman will become president under the law, “

 he said

It is this scenario that Haley is warning about. With Kamala Harris’s approval ratings low, the prospects of her leading the country aren’t very promising.

Nikki Haley will not go up against Donald Trump

While Nikki Haley takes a dig at Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the chances of her becoming the first woman President are very low. The Republican party is full of experienced and ambitious politicians. Getting the support of the conservatives to lead them will be a bigger challenge than the main Presidential elections in November 2024.

But perhaps it is not Joe Biden that will prevent her from getting into the White House. Republican strongman and former US President Donald Trump has also thrown himself back into the race

After becoming the first US President to be indicted, arrested, and arraigned, Trump is in revenge mode. He has vowed to rectify his 2020 loss by winning the next election as the GOP candidate.

Why is this a problem for Nikki Haley? If Trump is not disqualified until the GOP primaries, she will find it hard to garner more support than him.

She recently attacked Trump, claiming he was “consumed by the grievances of the past and the promise of more drama in the future,” unlike her, who has a “forward-looking vision for the American people.”

However, under President Donald Trump, Harley served as the 29th US ambassador to the United Nations for two years, from January 2017 through December 2018. She may just have to yield because Trump elevated her as President.

Does Haley want to be Trump’s Vice President?

Meanwhile, some people have pointed out, that Nikki Haley may just be eyeing to get on Donal Trump’s ticket as his Vice Presidential face. Donald Trump is almost 77 years old. If he wins next year, he will take oath at 78 years old. His chances of kicking the bucket while in office are arguably no less than Joe Biden’s.

If that happens, one could argue that she stands to inherit the presidency from Trump if he wins and dies in office. But until all that happens, they have to win the support of their party, which won’t be easy either. However, we can only hope that neither Trump nor Joe Biden will die in office.
